From Passion to Plate – The Heart Behind DISHIN’ with D’Lea
Hey, I’m D’Lea a private chef, creative soul, and proud Mississippi girl with a serious love for food. I grew up in Hattiesburg, but my earliest kitchen memories take me back to my grandmother’s house in Kentwood, Louisiana. I was that little girl sitting on the counter, watching her whip up homemade meals from scratch no recipes, just love, instinct, and flavor.
By the time I was six, I was cooking on a hot plate. From there, I graduated to the stove and never looked back. Over the years, I’ve taken culinary classes with local chefs, studied different cooking styles, and started creating my own dishes from scratch. I’ve always believed food is more than something we eat it’s a way to connect, celebrate, and show love.
In 2023, I started selling spicy bowls, seafood bowls, and buffalo chicken dip just to share what I love. The support blew me away, and that’s when I officially launched DISHIN’ with D’Lea LLC. What started in my kitchen turned into something bigger; private chef bookings, catering events, and even cooking for a celebrity. Every new opportunity reminds me why I started: to make people feel something through food.
My style is soulful, bold, and rooted in Southern tradition with a twist. I bring flavor, presentation, and professionalism to every event whether it’s a family dinner, a birthday brunch, or a full-blown celebration. And I’m always thinking about what’s next.
Outside the kitchen, my mission is to inspire people my age and adults too to go after what they love. With faith, hard work, and consistency, turning your passion into a business isn’t just a dream. It’s possible.
